Jaxon (and one other classmate) were chosen to read a poem at a "poetry jam" during a PTA meeting tomorrow night. Here he is practicing...

Walking girl
Or at least trying :) she took her "first official step" about a month ago; but yesterday she decided to really start taking the walking thing seriously. Sorry this video is so jumpy, you might need Dramamine before watching it...

The special tooth
Jaxy lost his 4th tooth yesterday our conversation before bed went something like this:
Jax: mom, I dont get it, how does the tooth fairy even know I lost a tooth, does she just fly around all over and check EVERY kid's pillow EVERY night?
Me: I'm not sure how all that works
Jax: well, I want to take a minute to say goodbye to my tooth
Me: okay, that would be nice (trying not to laugh because he was as serious as a heart attack)
Jax: Goodbye little tooth, I will miss you a lot, you were one of the greats
Me: (again trying not to laugh because he was just so serious) that was very nice, I'm sure your tooth is going to miss you too.
Jax: well, why exactly does the tooth fairy think she can have my tooth anyways?
Me: I'm not sure
Jax: Well, she can't take it if she can't find it
Me: no, I don't imagine she could
Jax: I am going to put it in my special box and I will put the lock on it and there is no way she will ever find the key because I hide it really good
Me: Good idea, but I doubt she will leave you any money...
Jax: Oh, I'm not concerned about the money, as long as my tooth is safe
Haha, I love that little boy :)

Lyla 9 months!
3/4 of a year....WHAT?!?!?!? How did this happen? She is such a "toddler" these days; with all the drama, temper tantrums, getting into everything and fighting for attention. She is so close to walking and has taken a step here and there, but hasn't taken off yet (thank goodness!). She LOVES to dance and will do so anytime there is music playing (including Tripp beat boxing :) As mentioned above, she loves to get into any and everything. She especially loves to eat houseplants, dog food, paper, coins, small toys and any other "non-food" item. In fact, I had to preform the real deal heimlich maneuver on her a couple of weeks ago, it took years off my life. She has decided she is too grown for baby food and will only eat "real food" that she can chew....with those 2 cute little teeth she has. She loves to clap, wave, make the "scrunchie face", stick her tongue in and out like a lizard, and scream really loud when she gets excited. She still loves to be outside, take baths, play with Cade, Jax and Ella, and when caught doing something wrong crawls away as fast as her little short legs will take her. She has a new fascination with baby dolls, especially ones with eyes that open and close. In addition to the signs she knew, she has added "water" to her list. Some of her dislikes: strangers, water getting on her face when I wash her hair, taking anything away from her, Ella crying, and as mentioned above, baby food. She is wearing a lot of 18 month stuff these days and still size 3 diapers. She is getting so much hair, and it seems super thick, I hope it doesn't turn light this summer, I LOVE her dark hair and blue eyes. She's a sweet, fun, happy baby and such a wonderful fit into our family :)
Ella insisted on the headband.....she said it would be so beautiful on her :)
She loves that monkey, it was her first Valentine from us, and I love those rolls and cankles :)
I also love those little teeth
"yum"
And those pretty baby blues

Big girl bath
So I have just been super lazy and haven't let Lyla take a big girl bath because it is so darn easy in the sink. But when we were in Myrtle Beach I finally let her, she is now hooked ;)
Mom, this is for you, I told you I would post a picture of the back of her head to show you how thick it is back there...

Birthday Surprise!!!
The Friday after Cade's birthday we picked the boys up from school early. When they got in the car we told them we were taking them to Myrtle Beach for the night to stay in a hotel that had a water park in it. They were super surprised and crazy excited. I wish I would have taken a picture of their faces when we told them :) This is an overload of pictures, but I have come to the realization that I probably will never get my pictures put on snapfish to actually order hard copies of them. So this has to take the place of my photo albums :)
The Dunes
Right outside our room on the 8th floor...I had to take this pic while tripp was getting a different key because he was completely freaked out about the kids standing near this window. Haha, he has a slight fear of heights!
Lyla was happy to help us unpack...
Of course the beds had to be tested out
Little Miss Thing
She LOVED that all over the hotel room (bathrooms and kitchen) there were towel swans
There were two towers and this was the water park under our tower. It had 2 swimming pools, 2 huge slides, 3 jacuzzis, and a splash pad
The submarine in the splash pad
More of the splash pad
This is under the other tower (which was just a 30 second walk from our tower) the lazy river
A kid area, perfect for both the girls
On the deck of the pool was all kinds of stuff, pool, ping pong, shuffle board, gigantic chess and checkers and even a small kid area (not pictured) perfect for Lyla with those beaded things you find in a doctors office waiting room
A couple more water slides
The "teen" pool, the boys spent a huge amount of time here...
The kids would wait for a huge bucket of water to fill up....
And then dump onto them!
Wrestle mania
The next morning before breakfast
And we all know what happened shortly after this. Cade went down a slide and knocked his face somehow and broke off part of his tooth
So that cut our trip a little short, we headed home to wilmington and his dentist met us at the office and fixed him right up (you can't even tell which tooth was messed up). Since we were in town we headed to his basketball game and 5 minutes into the game he was elbowed in the mouth and went running off the court. I was worried his new tooth was already knocked out of his mouth, but it was a different tooth, a baby tooth that was already a little lose. Needless to say it was a weekend to remember!!!
