Big girl bath

So I have just been super lazy and haven't let Lyla take a big girl bath because it is so darn easy in the sink. But when we were in Myrtle Beach I finally let her, she is now hooked ;)

Mom, this is for you, I told you I would post a picture of the back of her head to show you how thick it is back there...

Birthday Surprise!!!

The Friday after Cade's birthday we picked the boys up from school early. When they got in the car we told them we were taking them to Myrtle Beach for the night to stay in a hotel that had a water park in it. They were super surprised and crazy excited. I wish I would have taken a picture of their faces when we told them :) This is an overload of pictures, but I have come to the realization that I probably will never get my pictures put on snapfish to actually order hard copies of them. So this has to take the place of my photo albums :)

The Dunes

Right outside our room on the 8th floor...I had to take this pic while tripp was getting a different key because he was completely freaked out about the kids standing near this window. Haha, he has a slight fear of heights!

Lyla was happy to help us unpack...

Of course the beds had to be tested out

Little Miss Thing

She LOVED that all over the hotel room (bathrooms and kitchen) there were towel swans

There were two towers and this was the water park under our tower. It had 2 swimming pools, 2 huge slides, 3 jacuzzis, and a splash pad

The submarine in the splash pad

More of the splash pad

This is under the other tower (which was just a 30 second walk from our tower) the lazy river

A kid area, perfect for both the girls

On the deck of the pool was all kinds of stuff, pool, ping pong, shuffle board, gigantic chess and checkers and even a small kid area (not pictured) perfect for Lyla with those beaded things you find in a doctors office waiting room

A couple more water slides

The "teen" pool, the boys spent a huge amount of time here...

The kids would wait for a huge bucket of water to fill up....

And then dump onto them!

Wrestle mania

The next morning before breakfast

And we all know what happened shortly after this. Cade went down a slide and knocked his face somehow and broke off part of his tooth

So that cut our trip a little short, we headed home to wilmington and his dentist met us at the office and fixed him right up (you can't even tell which tooth was messed up). Since we were in town we headed to his basketball game and 5 minutes into the game he was elbowed in the mouth and went running off the court. I was worried his new tooth was already knocked out of his mouth, but it was a different tooth, a baby tooth that was already a little lose. Needless to say it was a weekend to remember!!!

Birthday fun...

Woo and Gramp's came the weekend before his birthday and brought over this yummy cookie cake...

On his actual birthday we took the kids and cade's best friend McCallum to Jungle Rapids to play some games.

After that we took him out to eat for a birthday dinner at TGI Fridays, the waitstaff made him stand up in his chair and they all sang happy birthday to him. He has come a log way from when he used to hide under the table when everyone sang the birthday song to him!

Cade is double digits!!!!!

That makes you feel old, uh? It has been over a week since his birthday and I am still in denial that my baby is 10! And like dad said, as fast as these first 10 years went, the next 10 years will go even faster :(

It has been an awesome experience watching him learn and grow into such an awesome little boy (soon to be man!). From his obsession with all cars, trucks and trains, balls, then dinosaurs. The "super hero" phase and then Star Wars. Playing with legos for hours and then came the sports. It started out with soccer and then baseball, football and basketball have followed. He is now obsessed with Sports Center and ESPN and watches them whenever he can. He gets the ESPN magazine and reads it cover to cover. He is a tremendous athlete and gives 110% at every sport he plays (one of the several reasons his coaches all LOVE him). He is also a wonderful student, getting awesome grades and is also loved by all his teachers (but whats not to love!).

He is kind, thoughtful, energetic, funny, determined, loving, sensitive, a hard worker, a sweet big brother, a great teacher, and an absolute JOY to be around. I feel honored to be his mother and look forward to watching him continue to become the awesome young man I know he will be!!!

(thank you Kelli for letting me steal these awesome pics!)
